The oxygen used at The Zo2ne is generated using an oxygen enrichment system. Compressors are used in electrical oxygen enrichers to separate oxygen and other gases from the atmosphere. The “concentrated” oxygen is then used to provide low flow oxygen enriched aromatherapy to our clients.
The enricher uses a molecular sieve to separate oxygen from the ambient air. A compressor is used to pump the room air to one of two sets of sieves. Inorganic sodium silicate in pellet form is used to absorb nitrogen from the air while oxygen passes through.
The enriched oxygen is then passed through a plastic cartridge that includes a fiber membrane ( special sea sponge ) that has been infused with one of our 25 essential oils.
The oil is imbedded into the sponge to retain an aroma flavor for repeated use.
In this type of enrichment system the concentration of oxygen leaving the device can vary between 50%-94% depending on flow rate. A 3LPM flow will contain approximately 85% oxygen. The oxygen enriched air is delivered to the client via plastic tube for inhalation.
